The ICT platform initiatives 2015

The ICT platform has reserved 2 million SEK for special initiatives 2015. All researches within the ICT-area are hereby given the possibility to apply for funding for activates within the area of these initiatives.

The activities should contribute to one or more of the following for the platform designated areas of responsibility:

  • Stimulate and initiate multidisciplinary research collaboration at KTH within ICT
  • Increase external funding in the area of ICT at KTH by supporting broader project applications
  • Build and maintain good external relations within ICT at KTH
  • Take responsibility for that KTH has an adequate strategic outlook in the area of ICT
  • Contribute to a better visibility and acknowledgment of KTH within the ICT area
  • Contribute to the constructive development of faculty infrastructure at KTH within ICT.

2015 has selected three priority themes for this year's special initiatives:

  • Strengthen women's roles within ICT
  • Stimulate the doctoral students ”practice” in small and medium sized companies.
  • Support for the planning of initiatives for new constellations of research for the closing of the current centre funding from VINNOVA and VR.

Applications will be judged based on how well they connect to one of the platform's designated responsibilities and the three prioritized themes described above. Furthermore, concrete time-limited activities take precedence over more generally phrased applications.

Applications should be sent as a PDF to ictplatform@kth.se no later than April 15. Initially, we want to see brief but specific activity descriptions (about one A4 page). A selection of applications will be asked to formulate a more detailed description of activities.
